Terrace, Chris is excited and honored to bring his latest culinary visions to life in the midst of Portland’s outstanding restaurant scene.  

Chris has a strong belief that good food has the power to bring people together. Working in kitchens 

allows Chris to embrace his love of teaching, fostering creativity amongst his fellow chefs and providing mentorship. He prides himself on creating kitchen environments where excellent food is as important as the way people feel about coming to work each day. 

When he isn’t cooking, Chris spends as much time as possible outdoors, enjoying Maine’s charming seacoast with his girlfriend Rosalie and their dog Riley. 

Meet the Chef:

Chef Christopher McKenna got his first kitchen job at a roadside BBQ joint at 15 and never 

looked back. He attended culinary school at Johnson & Wales University and cut his teeth in the Providence food scene, working alongside some of the most accomplished chefs in New England. Chris has an extensive background in Italian cuisine, serving as the Executive Chef for both the Spoleto Restaurant Group in Northampton and Osteria Vespa in Amherst, Massachusetts. From Rhode Island to Massachusetts and now Maine, Chris has always drawn inspiration from the incredible food and natural beauty of New England. 

Since joining Colwen Hotels, Chef Chris spent the summer living the dream of many chefs—preparing the freshest local seafood on a private island off the coast of Portland, operating both the Diamond’s Edge Restaurant & Marina and the Inn at Diamond Cove. Now, as the Executive Chef at Harbor Bistro &
